5 essential tips for learning advanced vocabulary for International Exams.

This article was originally written specifically for preparing for the TOEFL and IELTS test, but the tips and suggestions have proven to be very helpful and successful for all students who are preparing for any of the international English exams.  When it comes to learning new vocabulary, it is easy to get lost among all of the English words. Your thick dictionary has thousands of words, and even the many Advanced English word lists have several hundreds of them. Seriously, how are you supposed to learn all of them at once?  It is important to progress slowly but steadily, at your own pace. Aiming to learn five new words a day, five days a week is a proven strategy I recommend to my students. 5 words a day , or  25 words a week , may not seem like much. But if you think about it, that is about  100 new words a month , or  1200   words a year . Since most word lists and international exam preparation books include about  500 words , this means that you should be able to  learn all of th
